MENTAL HEALTH IN THE CONTEXT OF LEARNING DISABILITY

AIMS and OBJECTIVES:

  • To be aware of the incidence of mental health problems in people with a learning disability.
  • To identify the vulnerability factors for people with a learning disability.
  • To be able to promote good mental health for people with a learning disability
  • To increase your understanding of the mental health needs of people who have a learning disability and support you to ensure those needs are met.
  • To explore the major mental health diagnoses.
  • To explore the ways that people with a learning disability may experience these mental health diagnoses and the interaction between them.
TARGET GROUP: Business owners, Care home managers, staff who have contact with people with a learning disability. Times: Arrive 9.15 for registration and refreshments for a 9.30am start and finish 4.30pm Refreshments will be provided.   Lunch will NOT be provided For this course care providers will be invoiced at a flat rate of £30 per delegate, after the attendance. If delegates fail to attend, the establishment will be invoiced for the non-attendance rate of £100 per delegate.
