AIMS and OBJECTIVES: Learning Outcomes (includes coverage of SfC Autism Skills and Knowledge list intermediate criteria and DoH CPD Curriculum plus applied MCA and Safeguarding knowledge.): 1. Develop key skills for communicating effectively with autistic adults 2. Develop enhanced awareness of autism specific issues in assessment and appropriate adaptations in the context of Care Act 3. Develop an Increased understanding of eligibility decision making for autistic adults 4. Develop advanced skills in person-centred care and support planning and reviews with autistic clients: 5. Develop enhanced awareness of autism specific issues in capacity assessment and best interests decision making in the context of the Mental Capacity Act 6. Develop enhanced awareness of autism specific issues in safeguarding including issues around sex 7. Increase skills in managing risk with autistic clients: reflecting on neurotypical assumptions in decision making 8.
