ENabling Research In Care Homes (ENRICH)
What is Enrich
Enrich is a national database that brings together care homes, care home staff, residents, and their families with researchers. Research in care homes involve completing a survey, joining a group discussion or testing a new device. ENRICH is part of the National Institute for Health & Care Research (NHR) which is the largest funder for health and social care research in England.
Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust have experience of supporting Care Homes in Leicester, Leicestershire and
Rutland to engage in research. We supported the Falls in Care homes research study (FiNCH).
The study trained care homes staff in the Guide to Action for Care homes (GtACH) toolkit, which included training
resources, case studies and a list of actions to prevent falls in care homes. The GtACH programme reduced falls by
43%, and did not affect residents’ activity or dependence levels.
